We design and operate backup and recovery solutions that protect your data against mistakes, hardware failures and ransomware. You get verified backups, tested recovery procedures and a protection level matched to your business requirements.

Data is lost in ordinary ways: a file deleted by mistake, a disk that fails, a sync that was configured wrong, a mailbox emptied when someone leaves. Less often, and more expensively, ransomware reaches the production systems and the backups at the same time. What decides the outcome is not whether an incident happens but whether you can restore to a known point, within a known time, and show that the restore has been tested. That makes backup a continuity question, a security question and a compliance question at once.

What Kristensson Offers

We deliver a broad range of backup solutions tailored to your environment and needs, covering all key systems and endpoints.

  • Endpoint Backup
Safeguard data on laptops, desktops, and mobile devices. We automatically back up user endpoints to protect against accidental file deletions, device loss, or malware incidents. This ensures that important files on employee devices are continuously protected and can be restored whenever needed.
  • Server & VM Backup
Protect your on-premises servers and virtual machines (VMs) with reliable, image-based backups. We cover everything from file servers and databases to entire virtual infrastructures, capturing system states and data so that critical servers can be quickly restored after hardware failures or system crashes. Our solutions support both physical and virtual server environments, so that business-critical servers can be restored to the recovery point you have agreed.
  • Microsoft 365 Backup
Even cloud data needs backup. We provide specialized backup for Microsoft 365 services – including Exchange Online mailboxes, SharePoint libraries, OneDrive files, and Teams data – to fill the gaps in Microsoft’s native retention. Microsoft 365 has native retention and recovery capabilities, and how far they reach depends on the workload, the licence and the configuration. They need to be held against your own requirements for retention, recovery point, recovery time and independent copies; where a requirement is not met, a separate backup adds another recovery layer. We back up your cloud email, documents and collaboration data on a schedule to separate, secure storage, so that a deleted email or a corrupted OneDrive file can be restored without touching the rest of the environment.
  • Business-Critical Applications
We tailor backup strategies for any business-critical systems you rely on – from databases and ERP systems to custom applications. These systems often contain the lifeblood of your operations. Our team identifies the best methods to back up application data and configurations (such as using database dumps, transaction log backups, or application-aware backup tools) so that if a critical application fails, its data can be restored to the agreed recovery point.
  • Flexible On-Prem & Cloud Solutions
Every organization has unique infrastructure, so we offer on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid backup deployments. For those who prefer control of local backups, we set up on-site backup servers or appliances. If you want offsite protection without managing hardware, our Backup as a Service (BaaS) options send encrypted copies to our cloud or trusted providers. Many clients choose a hybrid backup setup – keeping a local backup for fast restores and a secondary copy in the cloud for disaster recovery. This multi-layer approach aligns with the 3-2-1 backup best practice (multiple copies on different media, including offsite) to maximize durability. We work with you to choose the right mix, and we can integrate with leading backup software and cloud storage platforms as needed.

Security, Retention & Compliance

Security and compliance are at the core of our backup services. We design our solutions to not only protect data, but also to meet stringent regulations and retention requirements.

  • End-to-End Encryption
All backup data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Whether your backups are traveling over the network or stored on a server or cloud, they remain encrypted using strong protocols. This ensures that even if backup media were compromised, the data would be unreadable to unauthorized parties. We also implement strict access controls – only authorized personnel can view or restore backups – preventing insider misuse or accidental exposure.
  • Retention Policies & Versioning
We configure custom retention policies to suit your business and compliance needs. You decide how long backups should be kept (e.g. 30 days, 1 year, 7 years, or more), and we enforce those schedules. Old backups age out as required, balancing storage use with regulatory mandates. We also maintain multiple backup versions of files and databases, so you can recover from different points in time. This versioning is crucial for ransomware and corruption scenarios – you can roll back to a clean copy from before an incident.
  • Compliance Alignment
Our backup solutions help you comply with data protection laws and industry standards. For example, the EU GDPR requires organizations to ensure ongoing availability and rapid restoration of personal data after an incident. We fulfill this by securing data copies off-site and enabling timely recovery, thus supporting Article 32 requirements for data resilience. We also accommodate specific regulations like financial services rules on data retention or healthcare guidelines on patient data backups. Our team stays updated on frameworks such as GDPR, NIS2, DORA, and others to ensure our services meet or exceed the necessary controls. All backup locations and processes can be documented for audit purposes, and data residency can be specified and documented (for example keeping backups of EU data within the EU) to meet sovereignty requirements.
  • Integrity & Reliability
We employ measures like backup integrity checks, redundancy, and immutability options. Backup files are periodically verified (through checksums or test restores) to confirm they are intact and usable. For advanced ransomware protection, we can implement immutable backups (write-once, read-many storage) that cannot be altered or deleted prematurely, so that a clean recovery point remains available even if the production environment is compromised. Combined with offsite replication, this provides resilience even against attacks targeting backup systems.

By addressing security at every step and aligning with compliance obligations, we make sure your backup data is not a liability but an asset – safely stored, retained for as long as you have decided, and restorable within the recovery time you have agreed.

Rapid Recovery & Granular Restore

Having backups is only half the battle – fast recovery is what minimizes downtime. Kristensson’s backup services are designed for quick, flexible restore capabilities so you can bounce back with minimal disruption.

  • Fast Restores
We optimize our solutions to achieve low Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). In the event of data loss or a system failure, our team can restore entire systems or large data sets. How long that takes depends on the data volume, the chosen solution and what is being restored, and the target recovery times are agreed in the service. By using efficient backup software and maintaining local copies where speed is needed, we reduce the time your users or customers are impacted by an outage. Our approach keeps your business running – for instance, if a file server goes down in the morning, we aim to have it back up by lunchtime, not days later.
  • Granular Recovery
Not every incident requires a full restore. Our solutions support granular recovery down to single items. That means you can recover exactly what you need – whether it’s a single lost email, one database table, or a specific file or folder – without restoring an entire backup image. This granularity saves time and avoids unnecessary rollback of other data. For example, if an employee accidentally deletes a crucial Excel file, we can pull just that file from last night’s backup and have it back in place immediately. Similarly, we can restore an individual mailbox or even one message in Exchange, a single document library in SharePoint, or one VM out of a multi-VM environment.
  • Disaster Recovery Support
Our backup services integrate into broader disaster recovery (DR) planning. In case of a major disaster (fire, flood, cyberattack), we not only have your data backed up offsite but also provide guidance to spin up systems in an alternate location or cloud. We can, for instance, help you restore critical servers to a cloud environment or secondary data center and get your core applications online while primary sites are rebuilt. By having both data and recovery procedures ready, we shorten your Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and RTO in disaster scenarios. Backups are essentially the foundation of your DR plan – and we make sure that foundation is solid.
  • Recovery Testing
To ensure confidence, we regularly test restore procedures (either as part of our service or by supporting your IT staff in drills). This could involve retrieving sample files, performing full system restore simulations, or conducting scheduled disaster recovery tests. By verifying that backups can be successfully restored – and within expected timeframes – the recovery time stops being an assumption and becomes a number someone has observed. Each test is documented, so the recovery point and recovery time you rely on rest on a result rather than on a setting in a console.

Our focus on speedy and precise recovery means your downtime is minimized and data can be restored at the scale you require – from a single object to entire infrastructure – whenever you need it.

Structured Delivery & Monitoring

When it comes to backups, a set-and-forget approach isn’t enough. Kristensson delivers these services in a structured, managed way to give you peace of mind that backups are running correctly and will be there when you need them. Our delivery includes.

  • Tailored Implementation
We start by assessing your current environment and business requirements. Our experts design a backup architecture specific to you – choosing the right tools, defining what needs to be backed up, how frequently, and where backups will reside (local disk, NAS, cloud storage, etc.). We then implement the solution with minimal disruption, configuring backup software, storage repositories, and network settings securely. This initial setup is thorough and documented, establishing a strong foundation from day one.
  • Scheduling & Automation
Based on your needs, we set up an optimal backup schedule. For many, nightly backups are sufficient; others may require hourly snapshots or continuous data protection for mission-critical data. We automate these jobs to run reliably in the background. Our team ensures that schedules align with usage patterns (e.g. running after business hours or during low-traffic periods) and meet any RPO targets – so if you can only afford to lose at most 4 hours of data, we schedule backups accordingly.
  • Monitoring of the backup jobs
Completed backups are only useful if they actually succeeded. We provide continuous monitoring of backup jobs and infrastructure. If a backup fails or encounters errors, our team is alerted immediately. We then investigate and resolve issues – whether it’s a network glitch, storage reaching capacity, or a software update problem – before it compromises your data protection. This proactive monitoring means you don’t come to find out a backup has been failing only when you try to restore it. Instead, we keep a watchful eye on all backup activities every day.
  • Reporting & Reviews
We keep you informed with regular reports on backup status and health. You’ll receive summaries (e.g. weekly or monthly) showing backup success rates, storage utilization, and any notable events. For regulated industries, we can provide more detailed reports to demonstrate compliance (like proving that backups ran on schedule and data was retained for the required period). Additionally, we conduct periodic backup health checks and review sessions – checking that your backup strategy still aligns with your current data landscape and making adjustments if needed (for example, adding new servers to the plan or updating retention as regulations change).
  • Support & Restoration Assistance
Our service doesn’t stop at running backups. When you need to perform a restore – whether a single file or an entire system – our support team is ready to assist at a moment’s notice. We understand that during a data loss incident, time is critical. Kristensson provides hands-on help to initiate and manage restorations, verify data integrity post-restore, and get your users back to work. We are also available to answer any backup-related questions or make on-the-fly changes (like executing an unscheduled backup before a risky operation). In short, we stand by you through the entire backup and recovery lifecycle.

By engaging Kristensson i Skåne AB for backup services, you essentially add a team of experts who manage, monitor, and continually improve your data protection. We handle the heavy lifting and routine care of your backups, so you can focus on your core business with confidence that your data is safe.

Don’t wait for a crisis to find the gaps in your data protection. The best way to ensure your backups are truly robust is to have a professional review. Frequently asked questions

How often should we test restores?

Regularly, and always after major changes in the environment. A backup that has never been restored as a test is an assumption. We test restore routines as part of the service and document the result, so that you know how long a restore takes and that it works.

Does Microsoft 365 need its own backup?

Yes. Data protection in Microsoft 365 is a shared responsibility: Microsoft is responsible for running the platform, you for your data. Deletions, mistakes and ransomware are not fully covered by the platform’s own features, which is why we offer specialised backup for Microsoft 365.

How does backup protect against ransomware?

Through separate copies outside the environment that can be attacked, retention policies with versioning so that older clean versions remain, integrity checks and tested restore routines. The backup then becomes a working recovery path instead of a target for the attack.
