Website review: cookies and public privacy notice
A defined review of what visitors meet on your website: cookies and consent, the public privacy notice, forms and third-party services. You get a prioritised list of what needs fixing and how.
Who it is for and when
Suits anyone with a website that uses analytics, ad tags, forms or embedded content, and especially those changing website, web agency or consent tool.
- You do not know which cookies and tags the website sets, or whether they are set before the visitor has chosen.
- The privacy notice was written years ago and does not match the tools you use today.
- The forms collect more than you need, or nobody knows where the answers end up and how long they are kept.
- You have changed or are about to change website, web agency or consent tool and want to know it was done right.
What we do
- Technical review. We visit the website as a new visitor and record which cookies, tags and calls to third parties are made before and after consent, on desktop and mobile.
- The consent banner. We check that nothing but necessary cookies is set before the visitor has chosen, that the visitor can say no and that consent can be withdrawn as easily as it was given.
- The public privacy notice. We compare the privacy notice and the cookie information with what we actually found and with the requirements in GDPR Articles 13 and 14.
- Forms and third-party services. We go through which data the forms collect, where it is sent and how long it is kept, and which third-party services receive data, including outside the EU/EEA.
- Report and walk-through. You get a report with findings and prioritised fixes, and we go through it with you and with whoever maintains the website.
What you get
- A list of cookies and tags, before and after consent
- An assessment of the consent banner
- A review of the privacy notice and the cookie information
- A review of forms and third-party services
- A prioritised list of fixes your web agency can work from
- A walk-through of the result
What we need from you
- The address of the website and, if they are to be included, access to the parts that require a login.
- Which tools you use for analytics, advertising, forms and newsletters.
- Contact with whoever maintains the website, if you want us to go through the fixes with them.
Scope and price
A defined engagement for one website. More language versions, a web shop or logged-in areas increase the scope.
The review covers what we see on the website when we review it, and it is not a guarantee of compliance. The changes are made by your web agency or whoever maintains the website, and we can check afterwards that they are right.
The price varies from engagement to engagement and depends on the scope. You get a cost proposal and, where possible, a fixed price before we start.
How it works
- A first conversation. We listen to your situation and explain how we usually set up the work. You get our assessment straight away, free of charge.
- A proposal with scope and price. A short written proposal with what is included, what you get, who does the work and what it costs.
- Review and walk-through. We carry out the review, write the report and go through it with you, so that you know what needs to be done and in which order.
