For a large municipality, Kristensson contributes information security expertise to the work of information classification across several parts of the organisation. The assignment began by mapping the municipality’s information assets and how information is handled in different areas of operations. We then analysed protection needs and classified the information based on confidentiality, integrity and availability. Building on the mapping and analysis, we produced a concrete action plan for continued information classification and for the measures required to protect information at the appropriate level. We work closely with the municipality’s various departments, providing structure, methodology and senior expertise throughout the process. The result is that the municipality gains a clear picture of its information assets, a consistent classification model and a concrete basis for systematically strengthening information security across the whole organisation.
